Passports and Visas

We welcome your visit to Abu Dhabi.

Please be aware that travelers to the UAE must hold a valid passport and may need to obtain a visa in order to enter the country.

Citizens of GCC Nations

Citizens of GCC nations of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia do not require a visa to travel to the UAE.

Visa-On-Arrival Eligible Countries

If you hold a passport in one of the countries listed below then you do not need to arrange for a visa in advance of travelling to the UAE. You are eligible to obtain a Visa-On-Arrival when you arrive at the Abu Dhabi International Airport. Simply proceed through immigration and your passport will be stamped with a 30-day visit visa.

Other Countries

If you do not have a passport from any of the countries listed above you will need to apply for a Tourist visa prior to coming to Abu Dhabi. There are several way to obtain a visa:

• If you are flying with Etihad Airways or Emirates they can help you obtain a visa. Visit their websites for more information.
• If you are booking your trip through a travel agency, in most cases they should be able to help arrange a visa for you.
• Five, four and three star hotels can apply for visas on behalf of guests who have booked a stay with them. Please contact your hotel individually to confirm if this service is offered.
• Additionally, our travel desk can help obtain a visa. The requirements for a visa application are:
  • 1 month Visa Fee of 450AED per person
  • Passport size photo with white background in JPEG format
  • Passport copy in PDF format

** Please note that the Visa application fee is non-refundable. Be aware that processing times take 3-6 business days and if a Visa is denied we cannot check the reasons for refusal.
