Focus

IEEE EDUCON 2020 will be organized by the University of Coimbra, University of Porto and Polytechnic of Porto, Portugal. The event will be held on the Polytechnic of Porto - School of Engineering, April 28-30th, 2020. Several pre-conference workshops will be held on April 27th, 2020. EDUCON 2020 will be focused on "Engineering Education for the Future in a Multicultural and Smart World".

Topics of Interest

Papers in all areas of engineering education are invited with particular emphasis on the main focus of the conference and on current issues in engineering education such as:

• K-12 STEM Education Initiatives
• Student-Centered Learning Environments
• Engaging Undergraduate Students in Research
• Service Learning and Humanitarian Engineering
• Diversity and Inclusion in Engineering Education
• Active and Collaborative Learning
• Inductive Learning, Problem-Based Learning, and Project-Based Learning
• Game-Based Learning and Gamification for Engineering Education
• Virtual and Remote Labs in Engineering Education

Venue

Polytechnic of Porto – School of Engineering, Portugal is located in the city of Porto, around 15km from the Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport. Located along the Douro river estuary in northern Portugal, Porto is one of the oldest European centers, and registered as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996. (www.isep.ipp.pt)

Presentation Formats

Proposals for participation in the EDUCON 2020 conference can be submitted in the following formats:

• Papers: Full papers (6-10 pages)
• Papers: Short papers (4-5 pages)
• Papers: Work-in-Progress Papers (4-5 pages)
• Student Poster Papers (up to 2 pages)
• Special Sessions
• Panels and Workshops

All paper and short paper submissions are subject to a double-blind reviewing process.
